DEFENCE:
 
The General Staff: this consists of the chiefs of the General Staff, man powerm Logistics and Intelligence Branches of the Defence Forcesm rge commanders of the AirForce and the Navy and the offices commanding the three Regional Commands (Northern, Central and Southern). Its is headed by the Chief of staff of the armed forces.

officers are conscripted for regular service of 48 months, Men 36 months, Women 21 months.
Annual training as reservists , to age 42 for Men (54 for some Specialists), 24 (or marriage) for Women.
 
TOTAL ARMED FORCES: ( Iraq should have the following figures)
 
175,000 including 138,500 conscripts: this can be raised to 605,000 by moblizing the 430,000 reservists within 48-72 hours; Army 134,000 (114,700 Conscripts; Navy 9,000(2,000-3,000 Conscripts); Air Force 32,000 (21,800 Conscripts).
 
Parliamentary Forces: 6,000
